During her postdoctoral fellowship, she worked on the Hotel Study, a large, longitudinal study about the situations of people living in single-room occupancy hotels in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Her current academic endeavours include research on mental health, substance use, and concurrent disorders. Dr. Strehlau is particularly interested in the improvement of interventions for people with multiple struggles, such as homelessness, substance use, and mental health issues, and in work on meaningful translations of research into practical applications.

Dr. Strehlau was a member of the SHEWAY team and co-authored the Sheway Workshop Manual [PDF] and Sheway Workshop Slide Deck [PDF].
