Ernest Lai joined CHÉOS in September 2019 as a Research Assistant for the project Value and Limitations in Hospitalizations and Expenditure (VALHUE). The specific focus of the study is patient quality improvement and the impact of wait times on a patient’s day to day life, through collecting and analyzing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) before and after elective surgery.

Ernest also divides his time as a Project Coordinator at Footbridge Centre for Integrated Orthopedic Care, analyzing data and working with orthopedic surgeons on how to better improve clinic operations and physician practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and is a current candidate for the Master of Science degree in Population and Public Health, both at the University of British Columbia.
