Agnes (Aggie) Black

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, MPH, BSN, BA

As the Director, Health Services and Clinical Research and Knowledge Translation at Providence Health Care, Ms. Black is responsible for developing programs to support clinicians to engage with research to enhance their evidence-based practice, as well as supporting them to conduct research.

Ms. Black completed her BSN at the University of Washington (Seattle), and her Master of Public Health at Simon Fraser University. She is an adjunct professor at the UBC School of Nursing.

She is responsible for several knowledge translation initiatives at Providence Health Care (the KT Challenge and the PHC KT Community of Practice) and leads a team that developed the PHC Practice-based Research Challenge, a program that pairs teams of clinicians with mentors to develop a research proposal and conduct small-scale research projects. Ms. Black is Co-Investigator for “EQUIP-ED: Promoting Health Equity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous People in Emergency Departments in Canada.”
