- This event has passed.

The Centre for Clinical Epidemiology & Evaluation (C2E2) is offering a series of educational opportunities in Winter/Spring 2022.
Causal Inference from Observational Data
COURSE OVERVIEW
Module 1. How to construct a DAG
To develop confidence in:
- defining a directed acyclic graph (DAG)
- describing elements of a DAG (nodes, arrows)
- classifying types of nodes (exogeneous, parents, exposure & outcome, parents of exposure, common parents of exposure and outcome, mediators, intervening)
To develop skills in:
- how to summarize literature on factors influencing exposure and outcome
constructing directed acyclic graphs in DAGitty
Module 2. How to identify biasing paths and adjustment set
To develop confidence in:
- understanding sources of association
- classifying paths in DAGs
- identifying a minimal adjustment set
- contrasting marginal versus conditional means
To develop skills in:
- identifying a minimal adjustment set in DAGitty
