Dr. Iris Torchalla is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of B.C. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tuebingen, Germany.
As a clinician, Dr. Torchalla has specialized in cognitive behavioural treatment of a variety of mental health and substance use disorders and other clinical problems. She currently works as a psychologist in private practice and at an outpatient treatment program for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder. As a researcher, she has focused on women’s mental health and substance use behaviours, the correlates of trauma with psychological functioning, post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorder comorbidity, the effects of integrated trauma-informed interventions, and psychological aspects of tobacco dependence.
