Scientists at CHÉOS were successful in securing funding through the CIHR Project Grant Competition. The results were released for the Fall 2016 competition on May 15, 2017. The Project Grant Program approved 475 research grants and 121 bridge grants, for a total of $359 million awarded.
Serving as Principle Investigator, CHÉOS Director, Dr. Aslam Anis, was awarded for his project that will look at the how pricing policies for generic drugs can affect the market and drug industry. Ultimately, the project looks to guide policy-making when determining regulations for generic drugs. CHÉOS Scientists, Drs. Wei Zhang and Larry Lynd are co-investigators on the project.
Dr. Mieke Koehoorn was also awarded a Project Grant as Principle Investigator. Her project will describe the differences in workplace injury and stability between immigrant workers and those born in Canada. By combining immigration, workers’ compensation, and medical data, Dr. Koehoorn will look at the different experiences and potential inequities between workers.
